Where can I get additional information about EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and eXite®?
Additional information about how Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) works is available in the What is EDI section of our website, where you will also find suggestions for successfully implementing EDI. For additional information about eXite® and the benefits of our EDI platform, please go to EDI Communication. As a matter of course, we are always available for a personal no-commitment meeting.

What do I have to do to use eXite®?
To use eXite®, you must sign up with EDITEL Austria. Please contact our customer service by phone +43/1/505 86 02 or by e-mail info@editel.at to register for eXite®. You will immediately receive all necessary registration material via e-mail. Our customer service will be happy to provide any information you might need.

I forgot my eXite® password. What should I do now?
All you have to do is contact our EDITEL tech helpdesk by calling +43/1/505 86 02 -888 or sending an e-mail to support@editel.at. We will e-mail you a new password.

What is a unit?
A unit is a billing unit for data exchange via eXite®. Every billing position in eXite® is associated with a specific unit price. Upon request, we will be happy to send you pricing examples. Just e-mail us at info@editel.at.

What is the recommended approach to estimating the projected eXite® service costs?
The projected cost for Electronic Data Interchange via eXite® will mostly depend on the volume of transmitted data. Before you start, we recommend obtaining the following information:
- Number of messages to be exchanged (per week or month)
- Average data volume of messages to be exchanged
Based on this information, we will be able to determine projected costs for your data exchange activities via eXite®. Upon request, we will gladly send you general pricing information as well as price examples. Just contact us at info@editel.at. As a matter of course, we are always available for a personal meeting. Will I receive a detailed breakdown of my eXite® invoice?
A detailed breakdown of all individual positions of your eXite® invoice is available under eXite® Online Services. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact our customer service.

How do I connect with my business partners abroad?
eXite® has connections with many international service providers, which will allow you to easily exchange data with business partners worldwide.
To check if your business partners have an existing connection to eXite®, go to eXite® Online Services. In case you can’t find them, please send the information detailed below to info@editel.at or log it in eXite® Online Services:
- Your business partner’s GLN
- Your business partner’s address with the international service provider
We will make sure that you will be able to exchange data with your business partners abroad as soon as possible.

Can eXite® also be used for transmitting unstructured data?
Yes, eXite® also offers the option of transmitting unstructured data. This option is available for binary data as well as for proprietary data formats. As a prerequisite, such data needs to be sent in an EDIFACT or XML envelope.

What is a converter and what it is used for?
Converters are used to convert data from one format to another. When transmitting electronic data via EDI, this means that data in EDIFACT format is converted into a company’s internal format and vice versa. Thanks to data conversion, business data transmitted via EDI can automatically be processed by the company’s own ERP system.

Should we use our own or an EDITEL certificate for signing e-invoices in Czech Republic?
According to the legislative, both is possible in the Czech Republic. Using the EDITEL certificate for signing electronic invoices eliminates the obligation of issuing your own certificate, periodically updating it and thus saving costs. The use of the EDITEL certificate is not charged with any additional fees.

What can I do if my ERP system does not have any interfaces?
If your ERP system does not have any interfaces for importing order data, etc. and exporting despatch advice and invoice data, you need to use trade IT and then process the data manually in your ERP.

How can I get an EDITEL certificate for signing e-invoices in Czech Republic?

The GLN (Global Location Number) will be assigned by your local GS1 organization. For more information, please visit the respective website for your country:

What is the secret and public key within an e-signature/certificate in Czech Republic?
The electronic signature is based on PKI technology (Public Key Infrastructure). It ensures the integrity of electronic documents (e.g. e-invoices) and the authenticity (identity) of the sender (invoice issuer). The signature consist of a certificate which has been assigned with a private and a public key. The private key is only known to the sender (invoice issuer) whereas the public key is submitted to the recipient (invoice recipient) of the signed document (e.g. e-invoice) to verify the electronic signature.
