EDITEL CZ Celebrates its 30th Anniversary!

Prague, February 24, 2024 – EDITEL CZ is marking a significant milestone in its history as it celebrates thirty years since its establishment. The company has evolved into a key player not only in the domestic market but also as a leader in electronic document exchange, recognized for its responsibility, reliability, high standards, and professionalism in its products and services.

Founded in 1994 as an independent entity within the Software602 group, EDITEL CZ initially focused on electronic data interchange (EDI) in the banking sector and later expanded its portfolio to include other industries. Prominent clients, such as ČSOB bank, have been collaborating with EDITEL since its early days.

Today, as part of an international group, EDITEL CZ specializes in electronic invoicing, archiving business documents, B2B integration, and the automation and digitalization of corporate processes for companies of various sizes and industries. In the early ’90s, EDI technology in the Czech Republic developed in tandem with the growth of modern retail, with MAKRO being one of the first clients to extensively use EDI in 1998, maintaining a collaboration with EDITEL CZ to this day.

Throughout its journey, the company underwent several strategic ownership changes. Within three years of its founding, EDITEL CZ became a part of Deloitte. In 2004, it transitioned to the ownership of the investment company PXP Group. Three years later, the GS1 Austria group became the new owner, leading to the establishment of a branch in Slovakia. In 2008, EDITEL Austria became independent, becoming the sole owner of EDITEL CZ.

EDITEL CZ has received various prestigious awards for its innovations and contributions to information technology. Computerworld’s editorial team declared its long-term electronic document archiving and business case monitoring software as the IT product of the year in the information systems category. Additionally, it was recognized for supporting small businesses in the IT Product of the Year 2015 competition for its WebEDI product.
